100 Years of Experience

Did you know that Close to Creative plans more than just kids parties? This epic party ended up being more like a “kids of all ages” bash, as we threw wife and husband team Toni and John a once-in-a-lifetime joint 50th birthday party (their birthdays are one day apart,) with the theme of 50 and fabulous.

John and Toni really knew how to show their guests that 50 is going to be the best year yet. With an air hockey table, poker tournament, custom-made Seahawks themed corn hole boards made by Close to Creative, both a nacho bar and wet bar, a taco truck, photo booth and DJ, on top of local sweets and treats that were some of their favorites. So, how did it all turn out? We think the pictures speak for themselves:

Because we knew that the night was going to be a little loud, we made goodie baskets thanking their neighbors in advance for their understanding of any noise issues.

For your next special event, we promise to take care of all of the little details- invites, food, decor, party rentals- you name it, we are on it!

Elliott’s Octonauts Party

We were so lucky to get to plan a very special Octonauts themed birthday party for young adventurer, Elliott! Elliott, who turned 3, was quite an impressive little oceanographer, informing us that some of the fish we had placed for the hide and seek game were not supposed to be located in the reef zone, but rather, in the crest! Like tiny fishes, we loved getting schooled by this three year-old!

Here are some photos of his dive into his third year:

Elliott really loved his cupcakes and insisted on passing them out himself to all of his guests. He was also in awe of his light-up jelly fish, which he got to keep! We hope it keeps him company while his imagination takes him on many deep-sea adventures!

Inga’s Fairy Party

We had the pleasure of creating a very special sixth birthday for Inga! The youngest of four kids and the only girl, we wanted to throw a surprise fairy party, transforming her living room into a pink forestland suitable for ten little fairies.

We started by customizing invitations for the party.

Once the guest list was confirmed, we went straight to work setting the scene by making giant flowers, hand-made toadstool tuffetts, and a forest floor fit for a tea party.

Here are a few more photos from the table, which included personalized name tags for each girl.

Also necessary for this party was a Inga’s personalized birthday bunting keepsake and tulle covered balloons.

Our next step was to prepare the food for the party. Our themed, kid-friendly menu included snail sandwiches, pixie punch, toadstools, two whimsical cupcake towers, and a variety of sweet treats to take home.

We made tutus and flower crowns for each girl as a keepsake and set up a wand making station for our party craft to complete their fairy looks.

Happy birthday, Inga! We hope you and your friends had a party you will remember for years to come!
